Current Work

My interests include developing solution procedures for solving the equations governing the physics of chemically reacting gases with applications to high temperature plasma around re-entry vehicles and non-thermal plasma for flow control using plasma actuators. The governing equations encompass multiple disciplines including the physics of charged particles: governed by Maxwell's equations, the dynamics of fluid: governed by the Navier-Stokes equations and the chemistry of reacting gases in thermo-chemical non-equilibrium. In my doctoral research, I have developed and validated a numerical solver which solves the governing equations for multiple, chemically reacting species in a flow. The solver is part of the open-source suite of tools, SU2 and has a general formulation for any number of species and chemical reactions in the flow.
